Ms. Carter's Page:
I spent most of my youth traveling, because my father was in the U.S. Navy. I graduated from Texas A&M University where I majored in Interdisciplinary Studies and minored Mathematics. I love math!!!
I have two sons, Devinn (21) and Bryndon (18). Being their mom and number one cheerleader, takes up most of my time. When I do find myself with a spare moment, I like to read a good book (which I carry in my purse) and shopping (for a new purse)!
Why frogs? This is the question that I get every year. When you come to my classroom, you will see all kinds of frogs in the classroom (pictures, stuffed animals, pens, and frog knickknacks). It started my first year of teaching. I bought a poster with frogs on it. The frogs were cute, but I only bought it because it was green & green is my favorite color. A student asked me about the poster and why I bought it. Later that week, she bought me a frog shaped calculator. That started the frog craze! Students have tried to count the number of frogs, but the number keeps changing. I welcome students to try to count the frogs - but most of the time they start playing or talking and the count is never finished!
This is my 18th year teaching! I have taught students 2nd grade through 7th grade. This will be my 4th year at Oakwood Intermediate and my 2nd year with the Wolverines.
I absolutely love my job and feel honored and blessed to teach your child. If you have any concerns or questions please feel free to contact me anytime via email. I will do my best to respond that day!
